Flexibility exercise for low back pain – lumbar extension

It has been a while since I have included an exercise for low back pain that you can perform to help yourself. In my video a couple of days ago I talked about the importance of moving on a regular basis and movement could be performing 2 or 3 of these exercises every day.

Today’s exercise is the lumbar extension

Lie face down, leaning on your elbows

Arch the small of your back to press your pelvis and stomach to the floor

Try and relax in this position for 3 seconds (or up to 2 minutes if it relieves your pain)

That’s it. A nice short exercise but a powerful one for low back pain. Use this flexibility exercise along with a few others and keep yourself moving.
