What is fitin14?

fitin14 is a health improvement competition in which you engage in an easy-to-follow exercise and nutitional programme, optimising your fitness. Prizes are awarded to those who achieve the greatest improvement in their levels of fitness over the 14 weeks of the campaign. There is also an inter-company competition running simultaneously.

What are the costs?
The only fee is £54 per head, of which £14 goes to The Haemophilia Society.

What are the prizes?
The content and prizes are all provided by active^x clinics.*

Prizes for individuals:
 1st place                       12 x 1 hour massages or personal training sessions
 2nd place                      6 x 1 hour massages or personal training sessions 
 Last place                     the max plan assessment
 Top Fitin14 Score           Prize to be announced

Corporate team prize:  One free massage per team member (restricted to those in the team)

* Some companies may elect to provide their own prizes to further incentivise participants.

Why fitin14?

As noted in the Scottish Government’s recently published Health Works Strategy, a
healthy workforce is essential to help Scotland increase sustainable economic growth. It has been shown that:

• Physically active employees take 27% fewer sick days than non-active employees
• Individual work performance can be improved by between 4% and 15% when people engage in regular physical activity
• An on-site fitness programme can reduce staff turnover by between 8% and 15%

Competition Rules
1. £54 entry fee – of this £54, £14 goes to “The Haemophilia Society”
2. Register your interest by emailing gavin@active-x.co.uk
3. Competition Duration: Entries must be completed between 4th January and 31st January 2011. Final measurements must be taken 14 weeks after the first, and no later than 9th May.
4. Proof of entry will be the email giving initial fitin14 score.
5. Prizes awarded to first two places and to the last place, as in point 16 below. No cash alternatives.
6. Only open to those normally resident in Scotland at least 18 years of age on 1st January 2011.
7. Participants must be tested by active^x clinics, or one of their representatives. Testing to take place at active^x clinics, 14 Stafford Street, EH3 7AU or at the business premises of one of our registered corporate clients.
8. Limited entry number 300 individuals.
9. Winners notified in advance of 14th May 2011 for the awards ceremony at active^x clinics, and names posted on active^x clinics’ website by mid-day 21st May 2011.
10. Prizes awarded on 14th May 2011.
11. Criteria for judging winners is the difference between the pre and post fitin14 assessment scores.  These fitin14 scores are calculated using an algorithim comparing individual test results with normative tables. Results will be fed back to competitors, showing the pre and post fitin14 scores and the difference between these. For the corporate team competition, the winning team will be that team with the greatest average improvement in the scores for the team members.
12. In the event of a draw, the older participant will win. Details on the judging process are available on request. In the event of a draw in the corporate team competition, the team with the greater number of participants will win.
13. Prize-winning participants agree to their name and photo appearing on active^x clinics’ website, and on material promoting future fitin14 events, and agree to participating in press coverage after the event.
14. active^x clinics is not liable for any injury incurred by participants during the period of this event, regardless of any activity the participant is engaged in at this time or during any period of the competition's duration.
15. Users’ data will be held securely and not disclosed to any third party, other than as permitted in the winners’ clause 13 above.
16. Prizes are as below:
 1st   12 x 1 hour massages or personal training sessions at active^x clinics
 2nd   6 x 1 hour massages or personal training sessions at active^x clinics
 Last   the max plan assessment
 Corporate team prize - one 1 hour massage per team member - to be taken at active^x clinics.
